Monkey Business

This little cutie was made from a free pattern at Michael's using Paton's Classic Wool.  The sheet was hanging in the yarn aisle.  I can't find the exact pattern on their website anymore, but the pattern for this larger version is just as adorable.

As my friends know, I have a problem with gauge.  This is why toys, scarves and afghans are my favorite things to make. I can knit whatever number of stitches I like. Or as is the case with the little monkey, it's about 3 inches taller than the pattern measurements (7" instead of 4").  So what if it takes a little more yarn, and I used needles 4 sizes smaller than called for and it was still too big? No big deal. The monkey will be loved by a kid just as much.  Nobody is perfect, and that's a good thing.
